07 Days Wildebeest Calving Safari

Every year, the vast herds of wildebeest embark on a long-distance migration that coincide with the annual rain fall patterns and grass growth. Following the short rainy season in November, the herds of wildebeest arrive to the short-grass plains of the Serengeti around November. The short-grass plains are located in the area east and south of the Seronera, around Ndutu and the northern Ngorongoro Conservation area. Herds of wildebeest and zebra can be seen across these plains as they feed on grasses which have high nutritional value. The majority of the wildebeest calve around February. They normally stay in the area till April and then start moving west towards to the Western Corridor of the Serengeti National Park,

DAY 1: ARRIVE IN TANZANIA.

Arrive in Tanzania at the Kilimanjaro International airport where you will meet with Tanz-Africa Adventures guide. Then transfer to Arusha for dinner and overnight Hotel/lodges, according to the standard and types of accommodations requested from your options.

DAY 2: LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK.

After your breakfast, you will take 2hour’s drive to Lake Manyara National Parks for full game viewing, then dinner and overnight at lodges/ camps, according to the standard and types of accommodations requested from your options.

DAY 3: NGORONGORO CRATER.

After early breakfast and check out from the lodge/ camps, next stop is ngorongoro crater where you will enjoy the crater game driving with picnic lunchboxes, while en route you will able to visits traditional maasai Boma (maasai village) later evening proceeding to for dinner and overnight at lodges/ camps, according to the standard and types of accommodations requested from your options.

DAY 4: NGORONGORO – NDUTU.

After breakfast, it’s now your time to complete your dream and experience the great wildebeest migration with packed lunch game drive in Ndutu area,

Why Ndutu?

‘’Ndutu area has got palatable grasses with nutritional value which attracting wild animals for grazing after the rainfall season. This makes the area to be very potential for great wildebeest migration which accompanied by Zebras and Gazelles without forgetting big cats and other predators which follow the migration for having easy prey. Also Ndutu is the only area which is the multiple land use where by Human being and wildlife can share the same habitat this allows us to do off-roading’’

DAY 5 –NDUTU AREA

After breakfast at the camp, drive with parked lunch or hot lunch at the camp; enjoy a full day game drive in the Ndutu area. Explore the range of different habitats that include swamps, woodland, soda lakes and the Ndutu short grass plains. You can see great herds of wildebeest and zebra. During a short time frame around February, normally lasting for about 3 weeks, the majority of the wildebeest calve. The sea of grass provides security for the young calves although they are easy prey. Wildebeest calves can run minutes after they are born and within 3 days they are normally strong enough to keep up with the herd.

After this unforgettable day drive back to the lodge/camp for dinner and overnight to the standard and types of accommodations requested from your options.

DAY 6 – NDUTU – SERENGETI NATIONAL PARKS

After breakfast at the camp with parked lunch drive towards the central Serengeti, also known as Seronera. We descend into the heart of wild Africa – the Serengeti National Park – with its endless plains, rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see. Seronera area is one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park, featuring the Seronera River which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore attracts wildlife well representative of most of the Serengeti’s species.

After game viewing, drive back the lodge /camp for dinner and overnight to the standard and types of accommodations requested from your options.

DAY 7 – SERENGETI PLAINS – ARUSHA

After breakfast at the camp, game on route to the Seronera airstrip for embarking to Arusha airport. Upon arrival to Arusha airport, meet our driver and transfer to the Lodge or to Kilimanjaro International Airport for connect your international flight.

NOTE:

This safari can be connected to Zanzibar Island tour, this beautifully Island along Indian Ocean reputed as very unique and attractive white sand beach in the world. After long safari you can swim and relaxing while starching your back waiting for your flight back home.
